Misu je predvodio postulator vlč. Saša Ilijić u koncelebraciji s gvardijanom i rektorom svetišta fra Stankom Dodigom i fra Tomom Ivankom. U propovijedi postulator je okupljenoj zajednici govorio o pozivu na svetost koja nije rezervirana za pojedince već za svakoga vjernika. „U Isusovom preobraženju o kojem smo slušali u nedjeljnom Evanđelju očituje se milosrđe i ljubav Oca nebeskoga koji svakoga od nas želi preobraziti. To nam treba biti i zajednički poziv ove korizme, da se kroz molitvu, pokoru i djela milosrđa iz dana u dana preobražujemo te postanemo više Božji“, pojasnio je. Postulator je predstavio svetački lik sluge Božjega: „U godini kada obilježavamo 100. obljetnicu rođenja za nebo biskupa Antuna Mahnića želja nam je da se u hrvatskom narodu vjernici upoznaju sa čovjekom koji je u određenom trenutku naše povijesti svojim predanjem u ruke Gospodinove radio na navještaju Kraljevstva nebeskoga te poticao svakoga čovjeka da ugradi Evanđelje kao temeljno načelo života“. Istaknuo je posebnu vezu između sluge Božjega i franjevaca kapucina koji su udruženim snagama svoje živote stavili u izgradnju Kraljevstva nebeskoga, te njihovu osobnu pobožnost prema Bezgrešnoj Djevici Mariji.
